Hi I would like to get advice on which product/s to use to clean the seal of my Focus ST sunroof. The car is parked outside and is washed once a week.

However I notice that dust and dirt are starting to collect on the black sunroof seal/edging.

Currently I am looking at using the following:

Wipe down with a damp chamois (after washing the car) before applying:
1. Aerospace 303 Protectant, and then
2. Angelwax Corona synthetic spray wax for added protection.

Possibly alternate these two products above every time after washing car.

Any more suggestions or advice will be appreciated! 8)

Firstly, take your chamois and burn it. It has no place in your detailing kit. They are great at absorbing water but absolutely suck at being able to pull and dust away from the surface of the paint when drying, and therefore WILL cause scratches in your paint. Replace it with a decent microfiber drying towel.

I would clean using Shield Heavy Duty Vinyl and Rubber Cleaner - if you can't get that, then some APC diluted down to 1:10 sprayed into a microfiber towel - for the cleaning. To protect, you can use 303 protectant if you have some or the Corona.

If you have both, alternating isn't a bad thing, but I suspect you would only need 1 or the other, not both.

303 is not designed for paint whereas the Corona is, so from an ease of use perspective it may be easier just using Corona as you can protect the paint/rubber seal in one go. Using the 303 would mean you need to carefully apply it to the rubber only, and not get it on the paint
